About Me.
Sex Therapist in San Francisco
Navigating Intimacy & Relationships
I’m Aimee Evnin-Bingham, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #121983) and AASECT-certified sex therapist based in San Francisco.
I believe that sexuality is about so much more than sex. It can be a powerful way of understanding yourself - your desires, boundaries, needs, pleasure, relationships, and the way you experience your body.
For me, sex therapy is about creating space to get curious about who you are and what you want, without shame or judgment. It’s about becoming more connected to your body and mind, feeling empowered in your choices, and learning to communicate what you need in your relationships.
I work with individuals and couples navigating intimacy, sexual concerns, relationship challenges, trauma, desire, communication, and the many ways our relationships with ourselves can impact the way we connect with others.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, curious, and fully yourself.
I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming, kink-friendly, and welcoming of all relationship structures, including monogamous, non-monogamous, and polyamorous relationships.
I offer in-person sex therapy from my office on 18th Street in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood, as well as virtual therapy throughout California. I also offer sex and relationship coaching to clients worldwide.
Ultimately, I want to help you know yourself more deeply, feel more at home in your body, and feel empowered to create the relationships and intimate life that feel right for you.

My Journey to Becoming a Sex Therapist
My passion for sex therapy began during my undergraduate studies in psychology, where I was drawn to San Francisco’s culture of sexual freedom. This vibrant city helped me embrace my authentic self and fueled my dedication to exploring human sexuality. Determined to deepen my expertise, I pursued specialized coursework and training in sex therapy, sexual health, and relationship counseling.
After earning my Master’s in Counseling Psychology at the University of San Francisco, I embarked on a fulfilling career helping individuals and couples with challenges such as:
-
Sexual dysfunction and desire issues
-
Kink, fetishes, and non-traditional relationships
-
Healing from sexual trauma
-
Communication and intimacy struggles
Today, I hold dual certifications — from AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists) and Modern Sex Therapy Institutes (MSTI) — reflecting more than 150 hours of specialized sex therapy training and thousands of supervised clinical hours.
